Highlights:
The GfK UK IT Infrastructure team is responsible for delivering Tier 3 level support to GfK throughout the UK.  This service is delivered in partnership with the GfK UK IT Service Desk team and the global GfK IT team, Group IT.
The main responsibility of the role is to deliver Tier 3 level support and resolution to assigned Infrastructure service requests in compliance to all GfK IT methodologies, SLA’s and policies.  The role will also provide Infrastructure resource in response to assigned Infrastructure projects.   
In response to assigned tasks and general team service requests/ incidents and projects, flexibility towards travel between the GfK UK offices is a requirement of the role.
In response to major incidents or planned service tasks, flexibility towards working hours is a requirement of the role.
Key tasks & responsibilities:
  • Ensure all requested service tasks are recorded within the GfK IT Service Desk: G-SM
  • Ensure compliance to all GfK Group IT standards, policies and procedures
  • Take full ownership of assigned service tickets
  • Deliver Tier 3 level resolutions, or escalations against all assigned service tickets
  • Escalate all assigned service tickets which cannot be resolved within the SLA
  • Be conversant with the SLA’s, standards, IT policies and procedures
  • Ensure professional communication is delivered to the client during the lifecycle of all assigned service tickets
  • Take full ownership of all assigned Infrastructure projects or project tasks as directed by your Manager
  • Deliver professional documentation as required/ assigned
Requirements
Technical skills:
  • Tier 3 level Active Directory (Windows 2008 2012) support and administration
  • Tier 3 level SAN – NAS support and administration
  • Tier 3 level Netback-up support and administratio
  • Tier 3 level VMWare support and administration
  • Tier 3 level Nagios support and administration 
  • Tier 3 level Windows 2008 / 2012 OS support and administration
  • Tier 3 level support for UK and Global IT projects as required/ assigned
  • Tier 3 level support in Cisco support / configuration
  • Exposure to SQL 2008 / 2012/
  • Exposure to IIS V7 & V8 support and administration
  • Exposure to Microsoft Remote App solution
 Competencies:
  • Proactive team skills
  • Professional client skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Exposure to or qualified in ITIL V3
  • Flexibility towards UK travel (project planned travel or Incident response)
  • Flexibility towards out of hours working ( dependant on task)
 Typical education and work experience: 
  • MS Windows Server OS 2003/2008 Administration
  • SAN/NAS Configuration and Management
  • VMWare System Administration
  • MSSQL 2005/2008 and IIS V6 & V7
