TNS BMRB is one of the leading social research agencies working with UK government. Our work spans policy evaluation, public communications research and social marketing. We work on some of the most important public service improvement programmes in Whitehall and are also the research providers of a large portfolio of National Statistics. We work closely with many leading academics, who are both our clients, and also our partners, in large scale policy research.

We have an exciting opportunity for a candidate with an interest in social research issues to join the TNS BMRB Policy Research team based in London Bridge as a Research Manager. We are looking for someone highly motivated with a passion for research, who would like to work in a stimulating and demanding environment.

The opportunity will involve managing projects in a range of policy areas, for clients including the Department for Education, Department for Work and Pensions, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and HMRC (along with a range of other Whitehall departments and other policy research clients).

In addition to the core policy research role, there may also be the opportunity for the successful candidate to get involved in biomeasures research projects, a developing area within TNS BMRB.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
 
The primary purpose of the role is to assist the team with the following responsibilities:

  • Act as the day to day point of contact for client accounts.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to design and recommend appropriate methodologies and to develop questionnaires that meet or exceed client’s research objectives and business needs.
  • Contributing to business development and proposal writing.
  • Maintain an overview of projects, monitoring project management milestones, job profitability, establishing priorities for the team and escalating issues with internal teams.
  • Responsible for the planning and delivery of quality deliverables/reports/presentations.
  • Liaising with Operations departments to obtain costs for projects.
  • Checking Operations outputs (scripting, code-frames, data files, data tables).
  • Contributing to the interpretation and presentation of findings and report writing.
  • Coach and supervise junior members of the team to develop research skills.
  • Delivering to client requirements – to the highest quality and agreed time schedules supporting senior team members.
