GfK Boutique Research is a team of analysts carrying out in-depth analysis on GfK sell-out data and triangulating it with external data points to explain and anticipate developments in the technology-device marketplace.

GfK Boutique Research is a subsidiary division of GfK Consumer Choices, itself a division of the GfK Group, one of the top five market research companies worldwide. GfK Consumer Choices is the global leader in providing sales reporting and market intelligence for Technical Consumer Goods markets. 
Purpose of Role
Support the forecast team to meet the needs of industry clients in selected product sectors. Participate in and take ownership of generation of end-demand forecasts and other research and analysis for key verticals.  
Key Individual Accountabilities
  • Build a broad industry knowledge of the digital device world to support the GfK Boutique’s forecasting team.
  • Build specific and expert knowledge of the TV, DSC and Handset forecasting process. Manage the scheduled updates ensuring quality control and transparent communication at all stages.
  • With support from line manager and stakeholders (e.g. Data advisory team) develop the forecasting team’s thematic research capabilities.
  • Maintain and build a network of GfK colleagues around the world to continually improve the process and it’s outputs.
  • Identify and propose opportunities to enhance existing products and services, or develop new ones to extend commercial opportunities in your product sectors.
  • Brief and develop mutually-rewarding relationships and dialogues with industry clients
  • Travel as necessary to represent GfK Boutique at industry and GfK events
 Key Shared Accountabilities
  • Accuracy of the forecast (with the forecasting team)
  • Product improvement/development prioritization
  • Quality of process management.
Requirements
This is an ideal assignment for a candidate looking to begin or rapidly accelerate their analytical career. The successful candidate will have the relevant educational background with maths, analysis, business management modules being an advantage. The assignment requires a candidate who is looking to build a career in forecasting and analytics. The expectation is they will take advantage of Boutiques industry-leading training program, developing themselves rapidly to support our ambitious expansion plans. Ideally they will have top-rate analysis skills, problem solving aptitude, intellectual rigor as well as self-motivation. We value continuous learning, ingenuity, simplicity, and dedication to the achievement of team objectives.
Previous Experience
  • Analysing data and delivering actionable research
  • Strong MS Excel
  • Presentation – should be able to present ideas in a concise and powerful manner
Skills
  • Proven exceptional analytical skills and appetite for knowledge.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent team player
  • Results-oriented focus and desire to continuously learn and adapt
  • An interest in the technology sector
Desirable Skill:
Relevant statistical software packages, i.e. SPSS, R, EViews or willingness to learn
Other Responsibilities
