McKinsey Implementation – GEM Implementation Coach – North America



McKinsey & Company is looking for consultants with Mine Operations or Corporate (i.e., back office) background in Mining & Metals. Experience in mine planning, mine operations management, and/or performance improvement is required.

Desired Skills
Required Skills:
Our roles are suited to people who can apply problem-solving and experience-based judgment to complex challenges by focusing on the critical issues and constraints that affect business performance.  We seek individuals who demonstrate leadership, integrity, a sharp analytical mind, creativity, and the ability to work with people across all levels in an organization to make them successful. 
  • At least 5 years work experience with a distinctive record of achievement and impact, with a focus in at least one of the following areas:  mine planning, mine operations management, performance improvement, and/or corporate management/support functions experience at a major mining company
  • In-depth knowledge of continuous improvement programs, i.e., Lean/Six Sigma is desirable
  • Field-based experience working on projects in the Mining & Metals industry
  • Strong influencing, coaching and communication skills across all levels of an organization, plus a passion for seeing others succeed
  • Willingness to ‘roll up sleeves’ and work at all levels of client organization
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering is strongly preferred
  • Advanced degree or MBA from a premier institution is preferred
  • Advanced degree in mining, metallurgy, materials engineering and geology is a plus
  • Flexibility to travel regionally or globally up to 80% depending on client and base location
