Marketing & Sales – Analytics Senior Expert (Financial Services) – Asia Pacific



The Marketing & Sales Practice is a rapidly expanding practice area for McKinsey.  More specifically, our Consumer Marketing Analytics Center, which focuses on marketing and customer analytic services in Customer Lifecycle Management, Marketing ROI, pricing and promotion, has doubled in size over the last 2 years.  In order to increase client impact and meet demand, we are hiring experienced consultants to drive and deliver engagements in these analytic areas. 
Detailed Description
McKinsey’s Marketing & Sales Practice seeks highly productive leaders to support the Firm through this continued period of growth and opportunity.  As such, the ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in Customer Lifecycle Management (CLM), Pricing, MROI and/or Digital analytics.  S/he will have a successful track record of achieving innovative leadership to help expand our analytic capabilities and help build new ones.
This role will be responsible for:
  • Leading highly analytic client engagements, understanding and translating clients’ business needs into specific and concrete analytic plans
  • Understanding the data and data sources, while driving analytic plans to capture new opportunities and data transformation
  • Deriving business insight and developing recommendations by leveraging deep knowledge and experience with state-of-the-art advanced analytic and quantitative tools, modeling techniques, and data mining procedures
  • Designing, developing, refreshing and supporting the day-to-day analytics requirements of clients’ key marketing processes (e.g. response modeling, churn, acquisition, assortment), to improve their impact and ensure sustained improvement
  • Playing a central role on knowledge teams and helping the next generation of consultants and clients expand their analytic knowledge

Desired Skills
  • Senior executives in top tier financial services companies, with 12-15 years of business experience using analytics to drive business/marketing results in, ideally, information-dence and customer-facing roles. 
  • An advanced degree, preferably an MBA or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and apply information-driven analytic approaches to solve critical business questions in a practical manner with tangible results.
  • Extensive experience managing analytic resources (e.g., statistical, data, econometric), both on-shore and off-shore, to create meaningful and measurable business impact.
  • Experience in a client service-oriented role, with particular understanding of Marketing functions/organizations.
  • A proven track record of establishing positive client relationships that leads to generating repeat and/or new business development opportunities and successful client engagements.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams, and in-depth of knowledge/defined involvement in helping frame, design and execute solutions for challenging business situations.
  • A team-orientation and collaborative approach; outstanding listening skills and the ability to manage through influence.
  • Proven thought leadership within his/her industry space including production, syndication/publication of “marketable” knowledge.
