Managing Director, TNS



Role deliverables:
  • To create a compelling Vision and Growth plan for the country and deliver against agreed TNS Global, Regional   and local Objectives
  •  To contribute to TNS worldwide beyond the country by personally driving initiatives
  •  To enhance the reputation of TNS locally and internationally

Financial management:

  • Assume overall responsibility for the growth and profitability of TNS North Africa P&L health (overall but not one size fits all)
  • Growth (e.g. revenue, profit before tax, client mix, work and product profile)
  • Deliver Margin (e.g. Operating, conversion, efficiency)
  • Enable the generation of revenue and gross margin by others
  • Short- and long-range business planning and budgeting

 Development of Clients:

  •    Grow business with TNS’ clients in Egypt and North Africa, build new client relationships and generate new business with key clients – Multi-national relationship progress; locally and globally
  • Ensure a high level of client satisfaction and thus repeat business
  • Plus key large local targets (i.e. accountable ‘tail’ management)

Consistency of Product delivery:

  • Ensure country delivers excellence to clients consistently
  • Introduce new tools/ approaches to clients – i.e. innovate
  • Application and development of products/tools
  • Process efficiencies/protocols- ensure delivery in the most time and cost efficient way
  • Business development (e.g. acquisition)
  • Key competitor analysis and monitoring

 Leadership and management of People:

  • Be an inspiring TNS Leader and role model
  • Appoint and motivate a leadership team with clear responsibilities and accountabilities
  • Adopt and improve Global people frameworks
  • Hire, develop, retain and motivate high quality people
  • Implement HR policies that maximize the development and satisfaction of employees
  • Succession management

Knowledge and skills required:

  • Marketing (ideally research) knowledge
  • Strong international mentality/experience
  • Strong sales and commercial orientation
  • Client/externally oriented
  • Fluent in English and Arabic (verbal and written)
  • Good communication skills, gravitas and authority with clients
  • Trusted adviser to clients – inventive problem-solver and effective listener
  • Inspiring leader and team-builder – Builds strong relationships with staff and senior clients
  • Fair but firm- happy to coach and remove under-performers
  • Team player – contributes to the bigger picture
  • Cultural awareness
  • Embraces change
