Linux Administrator



Purpose of the role:
  • System administration of a Linux based big data production servers cluster;
  • Support the security, incident and change management of data processing applications

Key objectives of the role:

  • Incident resolution, Incident management;
  • Implementing changes, Change management;
  • Installation of new versions, tches;
  • Close customer contact during operative work;
  • Supplier management for incident related communication;
  • Documentation of all executed tasks in a ticket tool and CMDB;
  • Proactive capacity and performance management of systems and system components;
  • Support in planning and implementation of projects / new designs.
​“MUST HAVE” knowledge and experience:
  • Excellent knowledge in administrating Linux environments based, e.g. Debian;
  • At least 3 years of working experience in IT;
    Excellent knowledge in Puppet/Foreman and Nagios monitoring;
  • Detailed understanding in elementary network areas (TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP, SNMP, NFS);
  • Experience in virtual environments based on VMWare ESX;
  • Very good English language skills;
  • IT-related education.
 Considered as an advantage:
  • A certification (LPIC or similar);
  • Knowledge in administrating HDSF/Hadoop.
