Learning and Development Manager, TNS Global



Role Mission:

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to work in a global talent team and translate our business strategy into practical people outcomes. You will advise, consult and deliver – helping create programmes and responses that will drive our business into the future. As a small global team working with eight major markets globally, we need to be pragmatic (working out where we can have most impact), creative (focusing resources for impact) and influential (influencing others to cascade and embed).
Key Outcomes

1. Lead the development of capability within your area – currently the team is structured with each person having ownership for one of three areas: (leads to the outcomes), these outcomes include:

  • Client and people centricity – growing capabilities and mind-sets that put our people and clients first
  • Business and performance capability (operational capability, commercial, technology) – growing capability that helps us function and perform as a business
  • Knowledge and application around our tools and products – growing the technical knowledge that makes us unique as a business

2. Successfully supporting with the global talent review process; 
3. Leading the stakeholder relationships, including relationships with leaders aligned to your capability area, plus key relationships amongst our global HR community. You will work with them to translate their outcomes (e.g. develop digital capability) into learning programmes or other interventions, helping connect people globally and ensure learning has impact
4. Helping to lead, develop and energise our global HR community – sharing best practice, helping leaders connect globally and stimulating conversation (e.g. via our   Yammer community)
5. Take ownership for improving our talent practices and improving our culture globally, leading on some of the following work streams (currently divided amongst the  team):

  • Career Architecture & Transparency
  • Learning & Knowledge Culture
  • Talent & HiPo Strategies
  • Learning Standards (Quality, Measurement & Sustainment)
  • Learning Technology
  • HR Capability & Networks

1. Be pragmatic – bring experience working in a complex environment and creating impact through programmes; 
2. Have a learning, talent, psychology and/or consulting background;
3. Be collaborative – bring a partnership mentality. As part of global TNS, Kantar and WPP  we can achieve more by connecting and working with others;
4. Be an influencer – able to demonstrate impact through influence;5. Good project management skills.
