Head of Industries CE North America



This position will provide strategic leadership to the Industry organization – currently comprised of Automotive, Consumer Goods, Government and Academic, Financial Services, Health, Media and Entertainment, Retail/Restaurants and Hotels, and Technology, through its next phase of growth. 
Reporting to the Regional COO, NA, the Head of Industries CE North America will have P&L oversight and is responsible for structuring and aligning the Industry organization to achieve and/or exceed revenue and profit targets.
Key Leadership Accountabilities:
Provides strategic leadership to the NA Industry leads with the focus on increasing client engagements through fact-based consulting while driving revenue and profitability. This role will partner with the Industry Leads to set the revenue targets, manage performance and ensure that the Key Account Management organization achieves the planned results–both revenue and profitability.
• Creates a vision and business strategy to drive sales across the organization.
• Partners with the Global Head of Client Development and Head of Products CE North America to develop and implement a robust regional strategy that supports client development and the NA growth strategy. 
• Provide strategic guidance and thought leadership to the Industry Leads; acts as a thought leader representing GfK at major industry events.
• Leads the business in building and enhancing the partnership with clients and creates a culture that fosters the delivery of insights to clients that help move their business forward.      
Key Individual Accountabilities:
The successful candidate will provide strategic, and thought leadership as well as direct management to the NA Industry organization. This role will oversee the structure and alignment of the team to achieve and/or exceed revenue and profit targets. Specific responsibilities include:
• Partners with the Regional COO, and other businesses within the company in setting the strategic direction for GfK CE North America and leads implementation and champion’s strategy within the Industry areas.
• Leads and supports the NA Industry Leads toward the goal of delivering exceptional levels of client service and meeting performance objectives.
• Works with EVP and Regional HR Director NA to evaluate existing talent and develop a Talent Acquisition and Talent Management Plan to ensure business units attract and retain top talent.
• Works with the CFO to effectively monitor, and drive business performance.
• Works with US Industry Leads to develop and continually evaluate plans to grow the Company’s revenue base.
• Champions and drives the adoption and use of sales processes/operations (strategic account planning, pipeline management, CRM).
• Oversees efforts to create and manage long-term business relationships with clients.
• Identifies opportunities for new business with existing clients.
Key Shared Accountabilities:
• Work with COO and Global Industry Leads to ensure that the NA business is aligned with the company’s global strategy. Provide crucial input in the development of the future NA product portfolio.
• Partner with others in the company to foster collaboration within and across the organization, both locally and globally.
• Graduate degree preferred, including 15+ years of market research experience and demonstrated success as a business builder and sales leader.
• At least 10 years of high-level account management experience and 5+ years of significant P&L management experience working within a global organization.
• Strong financial and commercial management skills with demonstrated success managing a P&L management and growing business. 
• Ability to network at the C-level and is self-confident. Capable of winning business and building meaningful client relationships.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in the market research industry with a proven track record of client servicing.
• Proven ability to recruit, build and manage teams of business unit leaders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams to deliver on desired business objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
• 20+ years of progressive experience in the market research industry with a proven track record of client servicing
• Success in building an international practice within a market insights or advertising firm. 
• 7+ years of experience working with international clients and colleagues
• 5+ years of client-side work experience
Typical education and work experience:
BA/BS in Marketing or equivalent, MS desirable.
