Head of GfK IT UK



Ensure seamless operability of IT services and high standards of satisfaction in day to day interaction with both internal and external stakeholders. Managing the UK IT operation in close co-operation with Group IT. Contributes actively in the implementation of the organizations strategy and vision. The role provides service across all business entities in the UK and must ensure that resources and service are shared fairly and appropriately
Job Profile:
  • To lead the IT HR Shared Service organization across the UK
  • Ensure that global IT strategy is implemented in the UK and that the local service is fit for purpose through tactical and strategic interventions
  • To ensure company’s portfolio client satisfaction is maintained to a high level
  • To ensure employee’s satisfaction is maintained to a high level
  • To maintain an awareness of major incidents affecting business flow
  • To ensure that any query made by the client and the employee is investigated and resolved
  • To make the CIO aware of any service related query
  • To take responsibility for the local cost control, ensuring the appropriate Regional and GROUP IT financial targets are achieved
  • To manage the IT shared service team effectively, ensuring that performance is properly managed, that development, talent pipelines and succession planning is in place.
  • To ensure that the appropriate budgeting processes are followed by the teams he/she is responsible for 
  • To support the business in the identification of new products and services that im-proves their market position, spot strategic projects and win the attention and in-volvement of Global IT 
  • To ensure that the annual budget forecasts are completed within the required time-scales
  • To ensure that any deviation in the P&L forecasts reported for the region have a full explanation and remedial action
  • To develop, agree and implement customer satisfaction process in conjunction with Portfolio Management to ensure global conformity
  • To act as an escalation point for service related issues, ensuring the CIO is made aware when appropriate
  • He or she takes responsibility for resolving any identified staff performance issues, as well as supporting the hiring of staff
  • Recruitment, talent brokering
Formal Education & Performance Record 
  • College diploma or university degree, and relevant experience working experience in IT management

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • People management experience, strong leader personality
  • Demonstrated level of emotional intelligence Track record in managing local IT operations
  • Focus toexcel in operations quality while keeping costs low
  • Experience in business administration and IT controlling 
  • Profound knowledge in demand management and IT budgeting
  • Team management capability

  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Fluent in English, any additional languages are appreciated
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
