Geospatial Analytics – Marketing and Sales – Knowledge Specialist – NA



McKinsey & Company’s Geospatial Analytics team is seeking a full-time Knowledge Specialist with a Marketing & Sales spike.  This position will be based at the North American Knowledge Center in Waltham, MA.
Detailed Description
McKinsey’s North American Knowledge Center (NAKC), provides research and analytic support to McKinsey consultants and clients. The center hosts several industry and functional research teams as well as a few specialized teams such as the Geospatial Analytics team.  The Geospatial Analytics team combines business and spatial intelligence for decision making on a wide range of business issues, including advanced analytics for Marketing and Sales topics.  Team members provide problem-solving partnership, advanced analytics, and synthesized recommendations to consultants and Firm clients.

Some travel may be needed.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • 5+ years of professional experience with a CRM, marketing analytics, sales force optimization, or customer analytics company, and/or an advanced degree (Master’s, PhD) in a field such as GIS, statistics, marketing analytics, management science, econometrics or related disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience with spatial analysis software and spatial databases, such as ArcGIS, PostGRES with PostGIS; and in advanced analytic techniques, including spatial analysis and statistical analysis; excellent data management skills and ability to do basic programming in key analytics languages a plus (e.g. Excel, Access, VBA, SQL, Python, R, C or C++)
  • Familiarity with CRM systems such as and/or exposure to spatial CRM and sales and channel optimization packages, such Geopointe, Spatial Key, etc, and/or sales force optimization software such as TerrAlign, AlignStar, etc is a strong plus
  • Experience in project management and ability to work with senior executives is desirable
  • The ability to transition easily from theory to application, and vice versa
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills – both oral and written; fluency in English
