As a BI Developer, you will lead the development of data visualization tools and process automation for Millward Brown to help clients make the best decisions about growing their brand. You will work with various teams including programming, project management, researchers, business analysts, developers, and the end-client to drive the design and roll-out of new technology solutions. These solutions will be focused on the business needs of our clients around the world.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop custom dashboards using Tableau, Scanmar, Spotfire, and other leading industry applications
  • Partner with various internal departments (Data Processing, Research Design & Management, Client Management, Solutions) to design and implement dashboards that meet client needs
  • Contribute to the development of our client-facing online reporting & mobile strategy
  • Development would include requirements gathering, lots of iterations and back and forth with internal departments and end clients to understand needs, and how to best visualize data, followed by design, deployment, and on-going enhancements
  • Document technical designs, using flow charts, diagrams, database schemas and wireframes
  • Synthesize and translate market research survey data and non-survey data  into creative visualizations using dashboard tools
  • Add value by providing innovative solutions and delivering improved upon methods of data presentation by focusing on the business need and the business value of the solution
  • Build de-branded prototypes for demonstration and illustration purposes for peer groups, Business partners, or senior leaders
  • Support peers and stakeholders as a Subject Matter Expert through troubleshooting, production support, and identification of opportunities to solve business/client problems through BI
  • Look for opportunities to improve current processes or find efficiencies by applying industry best practices for BI development
  • Guide technology advancements in the area of business intelligence by evaluating & recommending new tools & approaches

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information technology, computer engineering or related field
  • 4+ years hands-on experience with BI tools (SAP, Tableau, Spotfire, Scanmar, etc), specifically .NET Mainstream technical skill in VB.Net, VBA, SQL
  • Functioning in a lead technical role on large development projects
  • Ability to work as a team/across functional groups and handle competing priorities in a deadline driven environment
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff
  • Effective working within an agile environment

Preferred Experience

  • Understanding/knowledge of market research data structure
