Account Director, Data Partnerships



The Data Partnership Account Director’s primary purpose is creating new partnerships that drive new sales and increase sales of existing partnerships of all GfK MRI syndicated databases, products, and services. Partnerships targeted are companies outside of the typical agency, advertiser, and publisher clients who use MRI. The Data Partnership Account Director will have experience creating new partnerships that generate sales, as well as working with existing MRI data partners (ACXIOM, Claritas, ESRI, Spectra), and an understanding of the Ad Tech eco-system including DMP’s, DSP’s, and SSP’s. This position will develop business across all commercial sectors where MRI data can add value to existing systems combined with other sources of 1st and 3rd party data. The position will work closely with the Product team at MRI to develop products that meet the needs of clients and prospects across multiple commercial sectors (Ad Tech, Geo-Demo, etc.)
 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
·        The development of client presentations, proposals and contracts
·        Account management functions such as client database, tracking invoice payments, status reports etc.
·        Prospecting New Business Opportunities
·        Creative selling techniques should be utilized to challenge client/prospect roadblocks in overcoming impediments to success.
Experience and Skills:
 ·        Very strong sales skills in order to communicate effectively with senior level decision-makers at the client and prospects
·        10-15 Years of Experience in Data Partnership Sales
·        Strong negotiation skills are essential in this role as our industry continues to rapidly evolve
·        Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for both dealing with clients and for dealing internally with other departments at GfK
·        Must have strong knowledge of all GfK MRI products and services to effectively sell our offerings into all potential data partners
·        Working knowledge of standard MS Office products and become an expert in our internal systems. These include MEMRI, SmartSystem and the One CRM system
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
